This episode:

Coming from a family of musicians, there was an expectation that now-Attorney Tyrone Scott would pursue a career as a musician, but, instead, he went to college to pursue a degree in economics. With enough credits to graduate early and a declining interest in economics, Attorney Scott decided to also pursue his degree in music. During a business of music class, his professor stated that those in the music industry with the power are the lawyers. With this information, Attorney Scott decided to pursue law. Despite working two summers with BET and winning the Grammy’s Entertainment Law Initiative writing competition, Attorney Scott could not find a job in entertainment law immediately after law school and moved to New York without a job. He worked as a server until getting his first post-graduation job in the entertainment industry. Today, Attorney Scott is successfully practicing as an entertainment lawyer and serving as co-host of the POPLAW podcast
